Congratulations Brett and Lori (and big brother Mason)

Sometimes the wait is longer than we'd like, and Brett and Lori know first hand the heartache of waiting. And then their gift arrived. Beautiful and perfect, and I'm sure well worth the wait.

Brett and Lori, congratulations on the birth of your daughter. The Lord is faithful.

And a great BIG congratulations to big brother Mason! You're a might handsome big brother, and I'm pretty sure that little sister of yours will always have you watching out for her and protecting her.

And I just read this quote on Lori's facebook page and had to share:

"Mom, she is just like the baby I had dreams about.... except for whatever that is on her belly button. That definitely wasn't in my dream."- Mason

Congratulations Greg and Jessica

Congratulations Greg and Jessica on the birth of your daughter. A special congratulations to an incredible big sister as well! Don't you just love the look in big sister's eyes.

Greg and Jessica started with CAC on January 7th.
Started applying to agencies on February 24th
Then they waited, and waited.... Jessica had just joked with me earlier that same morning titling one of her emails to me "Persistent Jess," asking if I had heard about any new situations. She knew God had a baby just for them, but still waiting is hard. I kept telling her that when it happens it might happen fast, and it sure enough did.

When I got a call on Monday about a baby girl born on Mother's Day, I made a few quick phone calls around 3:30PM and by 4:00PM, Greg and Jessica were matched and their whirlwind adoption began. By 4:45PM Jess had emailed me her flight itinerary.

By 4AM the following day they left their house bound for Texas. They met their daughter at 12:30PM and by 8PM that same day they were discharged from the hospital with their precious bundle.

NOTE: to all of my waiting clients, I'm working on putting together some information for you on how to be best prepared for a WHIRLWIND ADOPTION. They happen A LOT! Hopefully my experiences, as well as the experiences of other clients will help you be prepared if your little bundle arrives in a hurry!

Reasons to Use and Adoption Consultant

Four years ago when we began to pursue adoption the main thing that paralyzed me was the "I don't where to start, I don't want to wait forever, and I don't have any money..." list of issues in front of me. I had never heard of an "adoption consultant" until friends of ours told us about Amy Young.

I'm not trying to drum up business, though I would jump up and down at the opportunity to help you in your adoption journey. What I do want to do is give you my simple run down of why using an adoption consultant changed my whole view of what adopting a baby would be like!

Using an adoption consultant:
1. Provides added security, protection, and peace of mind during the adoption process.
2. Provides advice on financing adoption.
3. Allows for a shorter wait time.
4. Provides connections to multiple agencies in "adoption friendly" states on your behalf.
5. Answers all those little questions you have, every step of the way.

Honestly, the reason I'm working now for Christian Adoption Consultants is because of the amazing experience that we had with them during our adoption; and because I truly want to help others walk through the journey of adoption with a sense of peace and joy!

Just couldn't resist posting this "happy reunion" photo, as Baby Joanna meets her awesome siblings just in time for Easter!
Congratulations once again Jason and Dawn!

Adoption Tax Credit Update

I always cringe when I'm asked to explain the adoption tax credit and usually manage to muddle my way through it with a "but please please ask your accountant to explain it to you" at the end!

You may have heard that the tax credit has been extended and that it has been improved. Great news for all of you starting your adoption journey this year!

For the best explanation I have read of the Adoption Tax Credit CLICK HERE!! and read an article written by attorney John Hine and adoption expert Laura Beauvais-Godwin.

Congratulations Jason and Dawn

Isn't she a beauty?

Are you ready for this? Jason and Dawn signed a contract with Christian Adoption Consultants on March 22, 2010. They were presented with two possible situations that very next day and were officially matched on March 24, 2010 with a baby that had been born on March 23rd. They signed all their matching paperwork and got on a plane early the next morning to meet their daughter.

When I tell people who are open to minority adoption that they could literally be matched in days, I'm not sure they really believe me. Do you believe me now?

Feel free to hop over the Dawn's blog and congratulate them!

Congratulations Joe and Erin

Joe and Erin started their home study process in August 2009 and finished their home study in November 2009. They began applying to agencies in December 2009. They were matched in a whirlwind the weekend of March 13th with a precious little boy who had already been born. They had to drive 5 hours to catch a plane since there were no flights out in their city that weekend. And I think within 24 hours, their son was in their arms.

Congratulations Joe and Erin on the birth of your son! You get an A+ for stepping into high gear and for your sudden initiation into the joys of parenthood! So happy for you guys!

Celebrating Adoption in OUR HOME!

Our family celebrated the birth of two of our children this month!

Our son Aiden who we adopted last year from Ukraine, celebrated his first birthday as an American citizen and as OUR SON! Happy 4th Birthday, my precious boy!

Elia Jane (pictured in my header) just turned 3 years old. Elia was adopted at birth here in the United States. She has opened our hearts to the beauty of adoption, and it is because of Elia that I do what I do today, helping other couples walk out their adoption journeys.

Congratulations Matt and Karen

Congratulations Matt and Karen on the birth of your son!
A true Christmas miracle. I'm am so happy for you guys.

As I have been reminded once again these past few weeks, there are times when we just cannot understand God's ways. The Rita Spring song, "Worth It All" has been bouncing around in my head for days:

"I don't understand Your ways
Oh but I will give You my song
Give You all of my praise
You hold on to all my pain
With it You are pulling me closer
And pulling me into Your ways

Now around every corner
And up every mountain
I'm not looking for crowns
Or the water from fountains
I'm desperate in seeking, frantic believing
That the sight of Your face
Is all that I need
I will say to You

It's gonna be worth it
It's gonna be worth it
It's gonna be worth it all
I believe this
It's gonna be worth it
It's gonna be worth it
It's gonna be worth it all
I believe this"

Matt and Karen's adoption journey was far from a fairy tale. It was wracked with disappointment, pain and sorrow. Before I met them, they had adopted a daughter, Emilie. After 4 months of having her in their home they lost her due to tribal law (Native American adoption). They came to me hearts broken, and longing to have a family. We moved forward with utmost care and did everything possible to see them matched with the safest situation possible.

They were matched very quickly with a great situation and then found out that their birth mom had a miscarriage. They were matched again and it seemed to be going so well, until Thanksgiving when they found out that they birthmother had given birth and changed her mind. Another devastating blow.

I always tell couples that we work to find the safest, least risky situations we can but at the end of the day we are still dealing with a human heart. And human hearts are often unpredictable.

It goes without saying that Matt and Karen were heart broken. I was reeling as well, and to be honest not understanding what God was up to at all. I still firmly believe and cling to Psalm 139 knowing that "all our days were written in His book before one of them came to be," and I know that God knows exactly which child will join each of my families and the exact day that they will enter their lives. That doesn't lessen the sting or the pain of watching one of my couples walk through heart ache.

So imagine our delight when we got the call that they had been matched with a beautiful baby boy who had already been born and that all of the legal consents had been signed! Isn't God amazing. December 21st Matt and Karen, got in the car to make the drive to meet their son, and on December 25th celebrated their first Christmas together as a family of three!

I'm so proud of Matt and Karen for the way they walked this journey with their hearts before the Lord, trusting Him and leaning on Him, even when they couldn't understand His Ways.

Thank You For Your Prayers

I appreciate all of the kind emails and comments. We are very grateful.
I am able to take any adoption inquiries now. Feel free to email me at tracie@christianadoptionconsultants.com
